This policy explains how deposits, program payments, and lab panel purchases work at the Institute for Human Optimization. Please read it before paying. Payment confirms that you have read and agreed to these terms.
A deposit reserves your appointment and begins your new patient onboarding. It confirms your place on our physician’s schedule and allows us to start preparing for your evaluation.
Deposit amounts vary by service. The amount due is shown to you before payment and confirmed in your receipt.
Deposits are non-refundable. This includes situations where you cancel, decide not to proceed, do not attend a scheduled appointment, or become unreachable during onboarding.
We hold this position because a deposit reserves clinical time that cannot be reallocated at short notice, and because onboarding work begins as soon as your deposit is received.
The Biological Audit is paid in full at enrollment rather than by deposit. Your complete testing panel is ordered as soon as payment is received, and those laboratory costs are incurred before your first appointment.
For that reason, the Biological Audit is non-refundable once your testing has been ordered.
Your enrollment includes the testing described on the Biological Audit page. You do not need to purchase a separate lab panel alongside it.
If you choose to add a lab panel at checkout, that purchase is also non-refundable.
Lab panels are optional. You are not required to purchase one in order to reserve your appointment, and you may add one later instead.
You may reschedule your appointment at no cost with at least 48 hours’ notice, counted in business days and excluding weekends and public holidays. Your deposit carries over to the new appointment.
Rescheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice, or not attending a scheduled appointment, is treated as a cancellation under this policy.
Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. The Institute for Human Optimization does not store your card details.
Your receipt itemizes your deposit and any lab panel separately. Lab charges are often eligible for submission to an HSA or FSA; deposits and administrative fees may not be. Please check with your plan administrator.
New patient appointments booked through this page are for patients aged 18 and over. If you are booking on behalf of someone else, or for a patient under 18, please contact us before paying a deposit so we can arrange the appropriate consents.
If you believe a charge is incorrect, or your circumstances have changed, contact us before disputing the charge with your bank. We would rather resolve it directly.
