How do cosmetic neurotoxin injections work?
Dynamic lines develop where repeated muscle movement folds the skin over time. Neurotoxins work at the connection between the nerve and the targeted muscle, temporarily reducing the signal that produces contraction. As activity decreases, the overlying skin can appear smoother and less tense.
Each nerve signal crosses the junction and the muscle contracts, folding the skin above it into expression lines.
